This program is designed to allow members of the association who have a family member with Down Syndrome or the member him or herself with Down syndrome, to access financial support on an annual basis.
Eligible families will be expected to pay for approved services and in turn, will be reimbursed pending approval after completing the online bursary application form.
Where it is not possible for a family to pay up front for a qualifying service, upon receiving the bursary application form, the Board will consider assistance in advance of purchase.
Program Maximums for Fiscal Year
- Recreation/Camps/Sports – $1000
- Therapy / Technology – $1500
Limited Annual Funds;
- Workshops, Seminars, Training – $1000 every 3 years
- Graduate Bursary – $2500 once per lifetime
- Respite
Eligibility:
- Applications are open to current active members.
- Items and services for reimbursement must be accompanied by receipt or invoice attached in your application.
- Items and services must be rendered during current fiscal year and during the period of active DSAH membership.
- Fiscal year is April 1 to March 31 of the following year.
- Items for goods and services cannot be covered by personal or group health insurance benefits.
- Some funds may have additional eligibility requirements and are subject to fund availability.
- All requests are subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
