ADAPT fitness at McMaster Pulse Gym
ADAPT Program at Pulse
Mission:
The mission of our program is to promote the physical and mental well-being of persons with disabilities by providing them with personalized support and guidance from trained student volunteers.
We understand that there can be a barrier for people with disabilities to starting and staying physically active. We would like to eliminate this by helping our clients find creative ways to overcome and adapt to these barriers in the gym, while being there as support as they go through their work out routine so they can reach their goals.
Values:
1.Inclusivity: We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to lead healthy and active lives, regardless of their abilities or challenges.
2.Empowerment: We strive to empower persons with disabilities to take control of their own health and fitness goals.
3.Compassion: We are committed to treating all of our clients with kindness, understanding, and respect.
4.Responsibility: We take our role in supporting the health and well-being of our clients seriously, and we hold ourselves and our volunteers to the highest standards of accountability and professionalism.
5.Growth: We are committed to continuously learning and improving, both as individuals and as an organization, in order to provide the best possible support to our clients.
